For your consideration is a beautiful antique, mother of pearl Sheffield sewing etui from the Victorian era. The lovely antique box is wood base, covered in a black textured leather look material with gilt line trim. The is an uninscribed oval silver metal center piece. The hinged back works well, as does the silver metal closure. Inside lid is padded green silk lined. The inside bottom is lined in gorgeous, matching deep green velvet with velvet loops for the various tools. There is cord trim around the edges. SIt even has a silk thimble holder. The piece is stamped 'WARRANTED SHEFFIELD CUTLERY'. As expected considering its age, there is some very minor wear. It measures approx. 5 5/8" x 3 1/8" x 7/8".
